Deviation of a component or system performance, operation or resultfrom the expected one.

Failure Mode, Effect and Criticality Analysis (FMECA)

Extension of FMEA; in addition to the basic FMEA it includes an analysis of criticality, which used to display the probability of types of failures with respect to the criticality of their consequences. The result reflects the type of failure with a high probability and criticality of the consequences, allowing corrective action, where they will have the greatest value.

Fault Injection Testing

Element of a comprehensive test strategy that enables the tester to concentrate on the manner in which the application under test is able to handle exceptions.
