In this case study, we proudly showcase our collaboration with a talented game studio and share the story of how we performed localization testing.

Game Overview

The client’s product is a playground game for children 5+ and adults. This delightful application was specifically developed for the iOS platform. In this game, players are tasked with constructing various structures such as parks, courts, cinemas, food service establishments, shops, and more.

As you progress, you'll have the opportunity to upgrade these constructions by earning coins. With over 40 meticulously crafted levels, this game promises endless fun and exploration for the kids.

Tasks

During the final stages of game development, the software developer sought the expertise of QATestLab for manual localization testing. The objective was to ensure that the game would seamlessly adapt to 11 different languages and cultural contexts. Time was of the essence, making it crucial to complete the testing before the scheduled release date.

With QATestLab's assistance, the software developer aimed to deliver a fully localized and polished game to an eager audience.

Realization

Fifteen test engineers from our Game Department joined the project. They got acquainted with the game’s infrastructure and main objectives.

Collaborating closely with the client, we engaged in thorough discussions about the testing scope, deadlines, and reporting formats. Our team of specialists diligently estimated the time, budget, and necessary tech stack to ensure comprehensive testing. Then, test engineers embarked on localization testing in 11 languages, ensuring the game's user-friendliness across smartphones and tablets in different countries.

The localization testing played a crucial role in this project as we aimed to ensure flawless text display across various levels and settings within the game. This encompassed examining translations, font rendering, text placement, and overall visual consistency.
