To support the rapid growth and legal compliance of a large-scale online poker platform, an international gambling holding brought in QATestLab as a trusted QA partner. With over 10 million players across seven regions, the product required continuous testing, regulatory validation, and performance assurance.

QATestLab formed a dedicated team to handle compliance, functional, regression, and sanity testing across all platforms, ensuring stable operations, smooth server migration, and optimized QA costs.

A series of online poker games uniting over 10 million players, including classic games like Omaha and Texas Hold’em, among others. Games can be played for real money or for free, and are localized for 7 regions.

QATestLab signed an NDA to protect the Client’s commercial interests. To ensure data security and access to test infrastructure, QATestLab provided documents certifying the affiliation of IP addresses to its employees.

Testing Types

Compliance Testing: 

Conducted to ensure the game meets technical standards and regulatory jurisdictions. Test cases were tailored for each region to verify gaming rules and regulations compliance.

Server Transfer:

Sanity testing of all functionality was conducted quickly to ensure a smooth transfer of computing power to new, more capable gaming servers.

Functional Testing:

Desktop and mobile functional testing of all 7 applications for different markets and the web application, with special attention to:

  • Correct game operations.
  • Random number generator (ensuring fair card distribution).
  • Bonus accrual and currency calculation.
  • Testing of game interruptions.
  • Game rules evaluation (verifying gameplay compliance).
  • Collision detection and prevention mechanisms.
  • Tournaments testing (single and multiplayer modes).
  • Client-server interaction testing.

Sanity and Regression Testing:

  • Sanity testing on the client and server sides after each game update.
  • Full regression testing of desktop and mobile versions after hotfixes.
  • Automated testing support: QATestLab analyzed logs generated by auto-scripts to support the Client’s test automation department.
