How to Spark Interest to Software Testing?

People can be divided into optimists and pessimists. Optimists always see the good in life, lots of opportunities, and they are happy. Pessimists think that everything is bad, don’t know how to improve the situation and don’t want to search ways how to do it.

The same refers to test engineers. Some of them, in particular the beginners, find their work monotonous and tedious. They lose interest in web site testing, desktop testing and mobile application testing. As a consequence, they stop being creative and may not notice some errors. Such attitude is unacceptable.

In Order to Regain Interest in Software Testing it is Wise To:

  • talk with more experienced testers, and ask how they make their work more interesting;
  • learn  automated testing and automate repetitive test cases; one should be careful though, and apply automation only for the suitable tests;
  • try to see and learn something new from every functional testing, usability testing, user interface testing and so on.

As a matter of fact, every job may be considered boring as there are repetitive and monotonous actions in every occupation. So, it is more a matter of the attitude than the work itself. We do the same repetitive actions every day the whole life, but it doesn’t make the life tedious.
